My name is Elspeth Read, I’m a third year English Literature and Creative Writing student. I specialise in creative prose, but occasionally dabble in poetry (to what success, debatable). I spend a lot of time in Northumbria’s Student Union, as I’m involved with several societies, and president of Horror Society! I also work as a presenter for a local radio station called Seven Bridges Radio. I love helping bring things (and people) together. On Edge Magazine is the perfect opportunity for me to put all my passions to use.

Hi, I’m one of the editors of the On Edge Magazine and a third year student studying English Literature and Creative Writing. I used to do freelance writing and I ran my own website with a focus on creative writing, book reviews, and author interviews. I write mostly short stories, occasionally turn my hand to poetry, and I’m working on my first novel.

I am a first year single honours English literature student and one of the sub-editors for the Onedge magazine. I write poetry and prose and have been published by Young Writers previous to starting university. I write book reviews for good reads for both my courses reading list and the books I read in my free time.

Hi there, my name is Joel! I’m a production editor here at OnEdge magazine and I’m studying English Literature at Northumbria. I enjoy reading, writing poetry and playing chess in my spare time. I joined the OnEdge team in order to broaden my experience in literature and publishing. Hopefully, the joint effort of our team, and the students whose content we publish, will give recognition to our universities artists and creators.
Feel free to give me a follow on Twitter or Instagram.
Hi, my name is Lauren, I’m an English Literature and Journalism student with the role of Journalist here at On Edge Magazine. I can’t wait to gain some writing experience before my second year studying journalism and beyond. Hopefully, we can showcase some amazing student work and help keep you all in the know!
I’m Ella and I work on the team as a fine art editor. I’m a PhD student researching gender and the regional art gallery in collaboration with the Laing Art Gallery. I love art and I spend lots of time visiting exhibitions. I can bring lots of experience in curatorial practices, art criticism, and publishing. I have a thorough knowledge of the history of art within the city so I can’t wait to promote the work produced by fellow Northumbria students.
I’m Alice and I volunteer as a publicist for On Edge. I am a third-year English Literature student. I am excited to learn more about the publicist role and get hands-on experience. I have experience managing my own blog and writing for several independent magazines, too!
Hello! My name is Dasha and I’m an English Language and Literature student who loves everything that’s magical and spiritual, travelling, various mythologies, and history. In my free time, I write reviews for amateur writers. My biggest dream is to become a novelist (I’m working on my first stories), move out somewhere in the wilderness, and amongst sheep on the moors write my scribbles. I hope that as a copy-writer in OnEdge I’ll gain adequate experience to turn it into reality and that I’ll raise awareness of common problems of the modern world.
Hi humans. My name must be Beth because people say it to me a lot and look confused if I don’t respond, so hello! I study English Literature and Creative Writing at Northumbria University. I could lead you into a rabbit hole where you might discover what brought me to love writing: was I born clutching a quill and a Ulysses first edition? Nope. I simply read The Great Gatsby – reading and rereading one sentence – “I was within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life”. So, from that moment on, I chose to spend my days being equally beguiled and nauseated by the boundless elixir that is creative writing. And that was that.
My name is Richard Tyson and I am excited to begin my work as a publicist for the OnEdge Magazine. I am a professional dancer and am now studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Northumbria. I look forward to seeing all the creative pieces we can display on the magazine and give artists, in many specialisations, an opportunity to showcase their work. Let’s go team!
Hey! I’m Lily Williams and I’m studying English Literature and Creative Writing. As you could probably guess from that, I love reading and writing but I’m also very interested in music and art. My role in the OnEdge magazine is a fine art and picture editor. I hope to expand my knowledge of art and engage with this subject more than I am currently able to and I look forward to working with art entries that are sent in!
Hi, my name is Sophie Ince and I am currently a second year English Literature and Creative Writing student here at Northumbria, and I am also apart of the sub-editors team for OnEdge Magazine. Since reading and writing are two of my biggest passions, I hope that by working for
the magazine I can help aspiring writers to get some of their work published.
Hi! My name’s Cameron, and I’m a first year English Literature and Creative Writing student on the editing team. In my free time I enjoy writing prose, painting models, and cooking. I’m hoping to be able to give writers who are just starting out a crucial leg up by helping them get something published, so that they’re able to get their foot in the door of other work.
