Bi-Weekly Creative Prompt: Five Years Later

A lot can change in five years. Everything is in a state of constant flux, whether it be personal relationships, government policy, or the trees in your local park, change is inevitable.

If you’re a writer or a poet, we’d like to see stories/poems that are haunted by an event that took place five years earlier. How has that event affected the characters? How has it affected their situation? Can you write about this change without explicitly telling the reader what that event was?

If you’re an artist or photographer, we’d like to see pieces that highlight change over the years, either drastic or small. This can be as a series of images, as a collage, or a side-by-side before and after piece.

Whether it be through prose, poetry, art, photography, film, or any other creative medium, we’d like to see your creative responses to our prompt and publish them.

Our submission guidelines for each creative medium can be found here.

If you’d like to submit a prompt idea, or a piece of art or photography to function as a prompt, email us at onedge.northumbria@gmail.com
